Now this is already done, so, yes it can be done. The control however on the host is the Hyper term Window with the typing in it just going out the com 1 port. I want to design a custom on screen keyboard that will output the keystrokes via the com1 serial port so those key commands will appear on the target computer as a keyboard is attached and running it.
